What is a Worldview?

Is It True or False?

A "worldview" is how you interpret everything around you and how you relate to it. We all begin with certain presuppositions/assumptions (the starting points) that effect how we interpret the world.

Our values and priorities result from our worldview. There are serious consequences for the worldview we adopt. A case in point is Hitler's worldview. Nazism was based upon mystical Hinduism that included other religious worldviews such as Nietzsche (10/15/1844 to 8/25/1900), Darwinism, Social Darwinism (late 19th century ideologies predicated on the survival of the fittest), the Occult, Paganism, Norse Revivalism, etc. This is why the Nazis used the Swastika. It was actually an ancient Hindu symbol (it was the Hindu symbol of unity, good luck, etc.). The Third Reich was thus built upon Hinduism--that traces its origins to a mysterious tribe of Europeans called the Aryans, who invaded Northern India from 1500 BC to 500 BC--as its religious base. And this created the context of the Holocaust in which millions of men, women, and children were brutally murdered.

Most Western people do not understand that Hinduism is a religious form of atheism because it denies that existence of the Creator God who exists apart from and independent of the universe He created out of nothing. It denies the distinction between Creator and creation. In Hinduism, the word "God" refers to the universe and not to some divine Being who created it. Stalin, who committed genocide against the Ukrainians, is another example of a person who based his worldview on atheism.

What is the definition of truth?

When we say that a statement is "true", we mean that it corresponds to a reality that does in fact exist independently of our beliefs. This is the normally accepted definition; however, the "religious pluralists" will try to change the definition of truth. It is also known as the "Correspondence Theory" of truth.

What is a Valid Worldview?

A valid worldview should consist of the following:

  • Its ideas and concepts must be consistent with each other as well as consistent with its presuppositions.
  • It should be coherent (understandable) and cohesive (holds together as one unified field of knowlege).
  • Its assumptions and concepts should not be self-refuting.
  • In full accord with the "Law of Contradiction"--the bible supercedes logic.
  • It is verifiable and does, in fact, correspond with what is there.
  • Is it livable? Most people cannot live what they believe.
  • Lastly, a valid worldview must explain: 1. why the universe exists, 2. why it exists in the form in which we experience it, 3. why people yearn for truth and morals, 4. why all non-Christian worldviews fail to generate truth or morals but collapse into relativism, 5. Lastly, why the biblical worldview is the only view that gives us clear cogent answers to the questions above.

All non-Christian systems are based upon three assumptions:

  • Human Autonomy: Man does not need God or the Bible for truth or morals. We can discover truth and morals through human reason (rationalism), experience (empiricism), feelings (mysticism) or blind faith (fideism).
  • Ontological Thinking: Whatever is "thinkable" to you exists and whatever is "unthinkable" cannot exist.
  • Monism: Ultimate reality is on kind or essense of being, i.e., there is no qualitative difference between objects.

In the Christian worldview, God created the universe "out of nothing", i.e. the world is not divine. Non-Christian philosophies cannot give us an intelligent basis for truth and morals and thus teach relativism, i.e. there are no universal truths or absolute morals. Of course, they are contradictory and self-refuting on this point. When they say, "There is no absolute truth," they just gave you an absolute truth. When they say, "there are no absolute universal morals," they just gave you one. This is why you are seeing the total collapse of non-Christian philosophies and religions. See A Christian Student's Survival Guide by Dr. Robert A. Morey for further details on the above. (http://www.faithdefenders.com/)

Our Only Hope

We are faced today with a total collapse of non-Christian philosophies and religions. They cannot give us an intelligent basis for truth and morals and thus teach relativism, i.e. there are no universal truths or absolute morals. Of course, they are contradictory and self-refuting on this point. When they say, "There is no absolute truth," they just gave you an absolute truth. When they say, "there are no absolute universal morals," they just gave you one.

Our only hope is to turn to the God of the Bible for truth, justice, morals, meaning, and beauty. The biblical worldview is the only suficient basis for science, morals, art, etc. See Dr. Morey's book, The Bible, Natural Theology and Natural Law: Conflict or Compromise? (http://www.faithdefenders.com/)

Without the one true/infinite personal God who created the universe out of nothing, there is no truth to find and no morals to follow. The pre-existent Word, Jesus Christ, came to this world to save a lost and erring humanity. Faith in Him is the only way of salvation. Put your trust in His divine person and atoning work as the only hope for forgiveness and heaven.

An excerpt from Dr. Peter Hammond, an African MIssionary with Frontline Fellowship, from his article entitled Why Is There So Much Hostility Against the Bible and Christianity?

LEGACY OF LIBERTY

The Christian Church has made more positive changes on earth than any other force or movement in history. Most of the languages of the world were first codified and put into writing by Christian missionaries. More schools and universities have been started by Christians than by any and all other groups. The elevation of women from the second class status they were assigned to by other religions was a Christian achievement. Those countries which enjoy the most civil liberties are those lands where the Gospel of Christ has penetrated the most. Christianity gave birth to liberty. Constitutional republics, the separation of powers, limited government and freedom of conscience are a result of the Reformation.

... I pointed out that the foundation of limited government, the Magna Carta of 1215 was written by a Christian clergyman, Steven Langton. It is the first statute, the first written restriction on the power of government. And it was firmly founded on the Scriptures, and the Common Law of England, which was written by King Alfred the Great. King Alfred began his Dooms - which were the foundations of English Common Law - with the 10 Commandments, the Exodus case laws and the Golden Rule of Christ. These documents led to the establishment of Parliament and the English Bill of Rights, which were all foundational for the American Bill of Rights and the whole concept of the separation of powers, limited government, freedom of conscience, and other essential principles of freedom - which we take for granted today.

Karl Marx declared that the first battle field was the re-writing of history. Evidently, the enemies of Christianity have been busy in our universities, in Hollywood, and in many newspapers and magazines, reconstructing peoples' perspectives of history and reality - from an anti-Christian perspective. It is imperative that we understand the Biblical principles for all areas of life and that we know our history...

Map of India

Yes, child sacrifices are still being performed in certain parts of India such as the recent case in the Central state of Chhattisgarh where a seven-year old Indian girl (Lalita Tati) was murdered and her liver removed in a tribal sacrifice to the gods to improve the crop harvest. Of course, the men responsible were arrested according to an article by Agence France-Pressee (Jan. 1, 2012) entitled child sacrificed, liver offered to gods: Indian Police. This is another example of when the true God of the universe as stated in the Bible in not known or taught that wickedness will permeate a society. This refutes adherents to Natural Law and Natural Theology--you cannot determine right and wrong from nature.

What about other Worldviews?

State governments in the United States at one time had state religions (half of the original states had a "state" religion), which did not infringe upon the religious liberties of other Americans. Under the Constitution it was permissible for states to recognize a particular branch of Christianity. The First Amendment read: "Congress shall make no law..." is how that amendment begins. It referred to Congress not the state legislatures. Protestant nations that had a branch of Christianity as an official state religion were amoung the most tolerant and free nations--Scotland, Switzerland, Norway, Costa Rica, Finland, England, Malta, Icleland, Greece, and Denmark. Sweden, until the end of the 20th century, had as its state religion (Lutheranism). The Constitution according to the founding father John Adams said: "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other." It is not about separation of church and state, which is not in the Constitution, but about which religion gives a country freedom and tolerance. For example, Buddhism and Hinduism have been intolerant. In Nepal, Hinduism was the state religion and has had a history of violence and intolerance. It was not until Christian values were introduced did the gross practices of Hinduism stop--Suttee (burning alive of the widows of husbands who had died), Thugee (religious murder to appease the goddess kali), and the oppression of the darker skinned people in India (called the "untouchables") by the lighter skinned Indians. Sri Lanka (its state religion is Theravada Buddhism) has had a long bloddy civil war--the Buddhists murdered Hindus in horrible ways. In Japan, the Shinto religion in Imperial Japan was violent (Kamikaze pilots and suicide bombers).

Only Protestant Bible believing cultures guarantee peace and liberty. The former Soviet Union (now Russia) and Nazi Germany, who were anti-Christian, were the most oppressive in the world. If you want to separate the true God of the Bible from any nation, then you will have oppression, intolerance and your liberties terminated.

Defeating the Totalitarian LieThe New AtheismThe Pink Swatiska

An Example of an Invalid Worldview being promoted in the United States

There has been a concerted effort by atheists and other enemies of the United Sates to secularize America—Madalyn O’Hair, who led a successful drive to remove prayer and Bible reading from the schools in 1962, was an atheist and belonged to various leftist groups which served as fronts for the Communist party. She chaired the Baltimore chapter of the Communist organization, Fair Play for Cuba and cultivated many relationships with pro-Marxist individuals and groups. The ultimate goal of the anti-theists is to proclaim their unbelief in God and institute totalitarian socialism. Many atheists will admit they are Communists, leftists, or socialists, who have a political commitment to Marx and Hegel. Materialism (anything that is not material does not exist; there is no soul or spirit essence in man and thus no God) empiricism (knowledge is restricted to those objects that can be perceived by our senses; Democratis (460-360 B.C) was the “Father of Materialism”—everything is made of atoms was his creed) came to define atheism during the Renaissance. Out of materialism came Nazism on the right and Marxism on the left. Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) taught that the moral attributes of God; that is, mercy, love and kindness were the source of all decadent “slave ethics”—he called greed and violence “good” and kindness and mercy “evil.” Nietzsche was also an evolutionist who believed in breeding a new master race and the sterilization of misfits—Hitler was an adherent to Nietzsche. Stalin was also an atheist who committed genocide against the Ukrainians—20 million murdered. Many anti-theists want to eliminate or destroy the following: 1. private property; 2. the nuclear family; and 3. religion. The State is supreme.

Morey and The Pink Swastika by Scott Lively & Kevin Abrams--points out how the Nazi SS was made up primarily of sadistic homosexuals and how homosexuality was so ingrained in the Nazi Party and Defeating the Totalitarian Lie by Hilmar Von Campe, who was a former Hitler Youth and now warns the United States that the same ideology is being promoted by the liberals/secular humanists.]

Russian President MedvedevRussian President Medvedev and Putin

It should be noted as the U.S., Canada and Western Europe are throwing the Bible and morality out of the schools, Russia and the Urkraine governments have mandated that Bibles be supplied to all their elementary and secondary school children. In February 2009 Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev noted publicly that Biblical moral education should be required in all Russian schools. President Medvedev should be complimented--he is on the right path to establishing a strong and prosperous Russia, especially if Calvinism is taught. Unfortunately, if the United States does not change its ways (national repentence), it will keep on declining and will bring serious judgment upon itself by the Supreme Ruler of the Universe.

Council of Europe

80 NGOs and experts met in St. Petersburg, Russia to address concerns over the Council of Europe's anti-family draft recommendations and endorsed their own statement. The Russian and Ukraine people reject the Council of Europe's proposal to promote same-sex marriage and the destruction of parental rights (the Supreme Ruler of the Universe does not give governments (the State) authority over child rearing). A quote from Pavel Parfentiev (2011) , chairman of a Russian family advocacy organization: "We hope the COE representatives and other national authorities will take into consideration the positions presented in the resolutions, being the consolidated voice of the civil society of the Russian Federations and Ukraine."

A quote from Worldnetdaily from an article entitled 'Same sex-unions' called 'destructive' (11/27/11):

The Russian organizations appeared to want no such "advances."

"We have a great concern over the fact that today, under the pretexts of defending so-called sexual minorities' rights and children's rights under an unreasonably broad nterpretation with the support of the UN and the Council of Europe, the traditional culture of family life (which includes rearing children in that context) is being systematically destroyed for many peoples, including the Russian people."

I encourage the Russian and Ukraine people to reject any plans from the UN, Western Europe (they will give their kingdom to the beast with its ten horns--represents ten kings--and these will hate the harlot and make it desolate--the woman is the great city which reigns over the kings of the earth) the United States (Babylon the Great--the mother of harlots and of the abominations of the earth-- will be judged in the near future--see Revelation 17:1-15 & 18:1-24) that promote unbiblical and wicked positions against the family--marriage is a creation ordinance from the Supreme Ruler of the Universe; see Book of Genesis (2:18-24).

A Christian Student’s Survival Guide

An example of invalid worldview presented by a Hunterdon Central High School teacher

A student named Jason—who graduated Hunterdon Central High School located in Flemington, New Jersey in 2002—told/alleged to me the following incident:

He disagreed with the teacher and class over gay adoption. He stated that it was morally wrong for homosexuals to adopt children—there should be a mother and father as stated in the Bible (Genesis 2:24; Leviticus 18:22; Matthew 19:4-6; & Romans 1:26-27). The whole class started shouting at him. (What happened to tolerance?) The teacher stated he was wrong and that most people agree with him (the teacher) as his defense to what is right and wrong. The teacher committed the fallacy called argumentum ad populum, in which something is considered true just because many people agree to it.  He would not be able to say that Hitler was morally wrong!  Moral relativism is self-refuting.

Many high schools in the United States are actively promoting the homosexual lifestyle (with official clubs in the school’s that sponsor GLSEN’s Day of Silence every year and supported by teachers and faculty members) under the guise of tolerance.   (It should noted that the Gay and Lesbian "Youth School Clubs" is nothing more than a "Hitler Youth Spin Off"--see the article above entitled The Pink Swatiska as Holocaust Revionist History by Dr. Judith A. Reisman--the author lost her Jewish family in the gas chambers during World War II.) To learn the truth about the movement and what students can do to counter the promotion of the homosexual agenda and express an opposing viewpoint granted under the 1st Amendment, see the “Militant Lifestyles” link on this website and the following websites below:
